This particular work was made in mid 90s after the artist tour exhibition in the U.S., where he was inspired by the bright and vivid sensations of “pop art”.

About Ming Ju

Ju Ming’s famous Taichi Series and Living World Series bringing him major renown on the international art stage and establishing his reputation not only as a major sculptor but as one of the most important masters of Chinese modern art. In 1991, Ju Ming's first solo sculpture exhibition in Europe opened at the South Bank Art Centre in London, marking the first solo exhibition of any Chinese artist to be held at that institution. In 1995, Ju Ming was honoured with a retrospective exhibition of his works as part of the Hakone Open-air Museum's 25th anniversary celebrations. His 1997 exhibition of monumental Taichi sculptures at the Place Vendôme, Paris, also received wide acclaim, and the exhibition travelled to Berlin at the Brandenburg Gate in 2003. He currently lives and works in Taipei, Taiwan.
