About The Work

Al Saleh’s latest series, showcased at her 4th solo exhibition titled “The 3 Phase Signal”, tells a story of tolerance and human connection through the symbolic use of sine waves, The artists seeks to emphasise the importance of deepening the connection between different nationalities and religions. Just like the colourful, ever changing, yet always familiar visual representation of the sine waves, our humanity behind all our cultural differences will always connect us.

About Maisoon Al Saleh

Born in 1988, Emirati artist and entrepreneur Maisoon Al Saleh graduated from Zayed University, Bachelors of Art in Arts and Design in 2010. Al Saleh has been remarkably active both in her native country, as well as internationally. As early as in 2008, she was selected as one of the best 64 artists in the UAE and invited to exhibit her works at the group show ‘Emirati Expressions”. She has had three solo shows in Dubai, Sharjah, and in China, presenting her three main series: the skeleton portraits, her sequence titled “The Dara Chronicles “and her latest mixed media portraits.Al Saleh is not only a prolific and hard-working artist, but she also actively seeks out new challenges in her career, participating in artist residency programs world-wide, such as the artist residency program organized by Daman Art Exchange Program at Art House Düsseldorf, Germany (2016).

Founded in 2013 in Abu Dhabi, EMAG organises significant art shows and local heritage exhibitions, creating bonds with the international art scene and with international academic institutions. In December 2016, EMAG was the first ever privately-funded gallery from the UAE to host a large-scale exhibition in Berlin, the art capital of Europe. The “Art Nomads: Made in Emirates” exhibition announced the arrival of Emirati artists in the international art world with numerous excellent reviews in German and international media, including Harper’s Bazaar magazine. In 2017, EMAG continued to promote leading Emirati and UAE-based international artists though its participation in art fairs around the world.
