Beyond: Artist Commissions will introduce artist commissions for Al Ain. Established contemporary artists Moataz Nasr, Imran Qureshi and Ammar Al Attar have been commissioned to make site-specific works for this initiative.

Beyond: Emerging Artists, curated by Mohammed Ahmed Ibrahim, will present commissioned works by three artists from the UAE; Ahmed Saeed Al Areef Al Dhaheri, Dhabiya Al Romaithi and Taqwa Alnaqbi.

Gateway: Structures of Meaning | Architectures of Perception, curated by Hammad Nasar is an extended exhibition that will open during Abu Dhabi Art and continue until January 2019. The exhibition considers artworks as structures through which meaning accumulates.

Durub Al Tawaya, Abu Dhabi Art’s performing arts programme curated by Tarek Abou El Fetouh, will see site-specific performances at Abu Dhabi Art and in different locations in the city.

 Abu Dhabi Art 2018 will also introduce an exhibition of works curated by leading Saudi contemporary art gallery ATHR. The exhibition entitled Letters,is inspired by Letters to a Young Muslim, the groundbreaking book by H.E. Omar Saif Ghobash, which explores the experiences of Muslim youth and their struggles with identity across the Arab region.
