Artist and Mentor: Dr. Ahmad AlAttar
AlAttar earned his PhD in Robotics Engineering from Imperial College London, focusing his research on robot motion learning. He now works at Dubai Future Labs as a Senior Robotics Engineer, where he focuses on robotics research, talent development, and R&D management. He founded REALIITY, an Emirati Art and Tech startup specializing in creating kinetic and interactive art installations that celebrate and reflect the UAE's rich culture and heritage.
2025 Participating Students: Maya Abu Farha (American University of Sharjah) |Shaikha AlKaabi, Raghad Alrayssi, Damtha Fahad, Hamad Mogamed, Evan Trinh, Aisha Baobaid (Higher College of Technology) | Hamda Mohammed (Khalifa University)| Arooba Altaf (National College of Arts, Lahore ) | Hamdan AlMehyas (Sorbonne University) | Muzen Almaskari (UAEU) | Ahmed Alawadhi (University of Sharjah) | Ameera Alhosani, Al Mariam Darmaki (Zayed Univeristy)
During the workshop, students learned the fundamentals of creative technology—including electronics, actuators, and projection—culminating in the construction of a kinetic projection-based installation. The final piece features projection-mapped canvases, each manipulated via actuator-controlled systems to distort and evolve projected Sadu motifs.
