About The Work
The painting Boreal I, 2018 is representative of the gestural and colour aspects of Nja Mahdaoui’s contemporary calligraphic work, showing his formal inventiveness and his versatility in his use of the Arabic script revealing the pure artistic dimension of the letter. Mahdaoui’s Arabic calligraphy also exposes the depth of his emotional and conceptual consideration of the most free and spiritual notions of art.
