About The Work

Gil Heitor Cortesão’s intricately realistic painting emanates a melancholy stillness, as though abandoned, but not forgotten. One is placed under the impression of observing the quiet setting through a window, and Cortesão cleverly disrupts this illusion, with explorative paint splatters and surface manipulation of his paintings on plexiglas.
