Kim, Jaeyong is an artist who, crossing ceramics and sculpture, has expanded his artistic horizons through a variety of attempts. He majored in ceramics and sculpture at Hartfort Art School, and ceramics at the Graduate School of Cranbrook Academy of Art in the US. Since 1998, he has held 12 solo exhibitions in the US and has joined many group exhibitions in Korea and other countries. In addition, based in Korea and the US, he has displayed his pieces in internationally prominent art fairs, and has become acknowledged by international art circles, forming a sizable fan base.
ARTSIDE Gallery was founded in 1999 in Seoul with a practical motto: ‘art is an endless centralisation of margins.’ It has since introduced Korean art to international art circles, promoting Korean artists globally and, at the same time, has introduced international art to Korean art circles. In 2001, it presented avant-garde artists from China in Korea for the first time. In 2008, it opened ARTSIDE Gallery Beijing in the Dashanzi Art District in China and established itself as a link between Asia, Europe and the Americas.
