Studio Abroad is a design practice founded by Summer Islam and George Massoud in 2013, which works to explore the influence of culture on space, and the consequences of inherited languages on contemporary design.
After graduating from the Architectural Association, Summer and George have worked on a range of art installations, curatorial projects and cultural buildings together. Summer previously worked for Caruso St John Architects and 6a Architects. She runs a unit at the Bartlett School of Architecture and has also taught at Central St Martins and London Metropolitan University. George has many years of experience working on a range of projects at Squire and Partners. He teaches at Oxford Brookes University and the Architectural Association in London.
