Cristiana de Marchi, is an artist, curator and writer. She has lectured widely on art and in addition to publishing articles and essays in catalogues and magazines devoted to contemporary art, conducts personal artistic and literary research. Her recent curatorial projects include, “Homage without an Homage” (Art Dubai 2017), a collection of 12 artists paying tribute to the late Hassan Sharif; “Is Old Gold?” (DUCTAC, Dubai, 2017), featuring 15 UAE artists and reflecting on the generational gap between the “5 UAE” and the latest generation of Emirati artists; “A Public Privacy” (Dubai Community Theatre and Arts Centre, 2015), the first iteration of UAE Unlimited featuring selected emerging artists living in the GCC, and “MinD/Body” (DUCTAC, Dubai and NYU Abu Dhabi, 2013), a historical show focusing on performance and the use of body in the Gulf Countries.
